The Exclusive Restaurant: A Gourmet Dining Experience in Bole, Addis Ababa

Hello, food lovers! Welcome back to Muscle's Culinary Quest. Today, I’m excited to share my dining experience at The Exclusive Restaurant, a hidden gem located in the heart of Bole, Addis Ababa. This Western-style restaurant is famous for its steaks and offers a variety of gourmet dishes. Despite its discreet exterior, the restaurant is located on the second floor of a building and is well worth the visit.

Location and Ambiance

The Exclusive Restaurant is situated in the bustling Bole area, making it easily accessible from the city center. The entrance might be easy to miss, but once you find it and head up to the second floor, you'll be greeted by a cozy and elegant dining space. The interior is tastefully decorated, providing a comfortable and inviting atmosphere perfect for enjoying a meal. It feels like stepping into a different world, with a unique and wonderful ambiance.


What I Ate

During my visit, I tried several exquisite dishes:

  • Beef Tartare: Finely chopped raw beef with no unpleasant odor, making it incredibly delicious. It reminded me of Japanese yukhoe and was very satisfying.


  • Gold Steak: A luxurious steak wrapped in gold leaf. The meat was incredibly tender and flavorful. Highly recommended for a special occasion.


  • Ribeye Steak: Tender and juicy, with the rich, savory taste of the beef shining through. Each bite was a pleasure, showcasing the quality of the meat.


  • Tenderloin Steak: Another excellent steak option, the tenderloin was soft and flavorful, providing a satisfying and delicious experience.


  • Mushroom Soup: This soup was rich and flavorful, with a deep umami taste. It was so good that I finished it before I realized it.


  • Porcini Pasta: This pasta dish was a standout. The thick pasta noodles were perfectly cooked, and the rich, aromatic porcini mushroom sauce complemented them beautifully. It was so delicious that I couldn't stop eating it until it was gone.


  • Strawberry Mojito: This mojito was perfect, with plenty of crushed strawberries adding a fresh, fruity flavor. It was refreshing and delicious.


  • Passion Fruit Mojito: Another fantastic mojito, this one perfectly balanced the flavors of passion fruit and mint. It was a delightful drink that paired well with the meal.


My Recommendation

Out of all the dishes I tried, the Gold Steak and Porcini Pasta were particularly exceptional. The luxurious presentation and tender meat of the Gold Steak, along with the rich and aromatic flavors of the Porcini Pasta, made these dishes stand out.

My Favorite

The Exclusive Restaurant has become my favorite restaurant in Ethiopia. The steaks, pasta, cocktails, and bread are the best I’ve tasted in the country. The mojitos are particularly exceptional, thanks to the skilled bartenders. The restaurant's unique and enchanting ambiance, coupled with the best service I've experienced in Ethiopia, makes it the number one restaurant in my opinion.

Staff and Service

The staff at The Exclusive Restaurant were professional and attentive. They were knowledgeable about the menu and provided excellent recommendations. Their friendly and courteous service greatly enhanced the overall dining experience.
